We drive over the mountain a lot to see plays at a repertory theater in Creede (about an hour away). Instead of trying to have dinner there, and get nervous about finishing on time for the play; I for years would pack a picnic and stop at North Clear Creek Falls (about halfway). It is one of Colorado's largest Falls that has nice picnic tables....and guests are always delighted to see it!
Today I need to find a place like this for peace and serenity after attending a funeral of a beautiful 42-yr-old niece who died because of someone else's careless driving. I'll try to keep this image in my mind!
