Remember Me?

Hello friends! Gee I have been gone for a long time, but we are finally home from eighteen days in Europe.

First stop was Paris. My husband jokes and says "Janey thinks Paris is on the way to everywhere".
We did spend five days  there and had our usual wonderful time. Since this was not our first trip we decided not to do the usual,but hey stopping by the Eiffel is a must.

A friend told us that the Van Gogh Lumieres exhibition was in town. I think this exhibit started in The Netherlands, but it will be in Paris through December. All of Van Goghs painting are illuminated onto 40 foot walls and slowly drift by.

The scenes (or paintings) change seamlessly before your eyes, and to beautiful music.

I suggest if it comes to your town, it is worth a visit.

You can even become a character in one of his paintings!

An Optical Phenomenon

I forgot to mention something when posting about our trip to the Caribbean this year....that I thought was interesting,

and this picture I saw on the Internet made me think of it.

A couple of nights when we were there we went to have cocktails before dinner,so we could watch the sunset. We were not only watching for it to go down, but hoping to see the green light. There is a meteorological optical phenomenon (whew those are big words) which occurs when the conditions are just right, and it only flashes for a couple of seconds, so you have to watch closely....as we were doing. As the very top of the sun disappears on the horizon...there is(sometimes) a flash of green light.

I did not take this photo, as we were not lucky enough to see it. If we had, this is what it would have looked like. Have you ever witnessed this? If not it is something to watch for :)

Missing In Action!

No, I haven't flown away on a hot air balloon....but we have returned to Texas. We have a trip to Europe coming up, and needed to return home to get ready. I will keep posting between now and then if I find something interesting to share. Don't think my trips to the dry cleaners, drug store and Walmart are blog worthy! Oh.....

We were surprised to see these balloons on our early morning departure from Colorado. It was only like 7am and they greeted us as we came over the mountain from Lake City!
