Texans have had a long love affair with the Longhorn Steer. This bovine, with it's very long horns, was almost extinct at the beginning of the 20th century; even though millions freely roamed the landscape the century before.. Now, almost as much of a symbol of our state as the Bluebonnet and our red white and blue flag, Bevo , a long horned steer, is the mascot of the University of Texas ..
I spotted these on a Sunday drive on a beautiful day.
