Recipes

Over the winter I collect recipes that I want to try, and now is the time to try them, before guests arrive.
This is one of the ones that caught my eye. I am always looking for new ways to prepare Salmon, which is supposed to be so good for us.
The recipe calls for both green beans and asparagus, but asparagus at the market didn't look that fresh, so I left it out. Also didn't sprinkle with sesame seeds as they just seem to get caught in dental work.
Other changes: I cooked it about 3 min longer than advised since Tom likes his salmon done. I also added chopped fresh garlic to the sauce. We loved the sauce, and next time I will double it to have extra to serve at the table. Verdict is: We loved it, and it will be added to my recipe binder.
Also brought this new cookbook with us. I will let you know how I like it.

  1. The think I like best about cooking, unlike baking, is the freedom to change and alter the directions, which often results in a fantastic dish. We joke at our house that every time I make a favourite dish, it often tastes a bit different than before. We think I'm a very good chef but a disaster as a baker.
