Come Along on My Morning Walk

Tom and I walk a mile every morning to the coffee shop (and a mile back)
This fountain is at the entrance of our neighborhood.

The village of Tubac is both old and new

with amazing shops to wander through

There are some where you don't even have to go in to see the wares!

Surely there is a treasure here

The buildings are all brightly painted

and finally.....we are here. Excuse me while I have a cup of coffee.
Come back tomorrow. We are going to a Spanish Mission

Scenes from the Course

Finally got out on the course for a round of golf. It was cloudy when we started. But, then the skies cleared, and it was a beautiful afternoon.

One of the many ponds on the course. They like to eat balls...and also make for great reflections.

I have never see this type of duck. My computer says it s a Canvasback diving duck.He has a white body and red head. He was also showing off his diving abilities.

I was relieved that we were playing the Anza Course...as the Rancho Course came with a whole lot of Bull!

The Car Show

We are vacationing in Tubac, AZ. Don't know why this sign at the entrance of a car show made me laugh. I guess I expected the third item to be weapons. Guess you can pack iron....but leave your CD's at home?

There were cars from every generation. This red one caught my eye.

Don't remember a Woody being turquoise ......Not sure they actually had that color?

Now we are talking. Needed some rock n roll music playing here!

The sign on the skeleton reads: Original Owner. hehe
Going to actually play golf this afternoon...

Tubac

We will be hanging out here in Tubac ...due south of Tucson, AZ for a couple of weeks

The two story house on the right is the one we are leasing

Tubac is full of galleries , fun shops, golf and good restaurants

You are supposed to relax and be carefree...kinda like this  .

or you can have a conversation with Abe.

We will attend a car show this afternoon. Not sure when I will rest and relax?

On The Road

We've finally made it to Arizona. The traffic signs on the side of the road are warning about dust storms.

Couldn't figure out what kind of fruit trees these are. But, with a lot is irrigation , I guess you can have orchards anywhere.

Desert landscapes give way to  rock formations

Yucca plants line the road and seem to be reaching for the blue blue sky.

Dinner

We dined at a darling Mexican Restaurant in the tiny village of Mesilla near Las Curses. Friends recommended it. As you can see, they have  been open since 1939! It was a popular, quaint spot just off a historic little plaza. If you ever get to Las Curces. Don't miss La Posta!

I just ordered a steak fajitas salad. Tom, who doesn't drink, ordered me their speciality margarita. Neither of us realized it was enough for three people! They brought the glass full and a shaker full to refill it! I had no trouble sleeping! Ole!

Long Day

With the morning sun coming up behind us, we headed out early yesterday from Boerne, TX

Even though we had had coffee, our first stop was McDonalds for a second cup. They really do have decent coffee now, and Tom is always thrilled that a senior coffee is only .37 cents. Me, I keep hoping they will ask me for my I.D. :(

Remember I said that there is a lot of white limestone in these parts

We passed wall after wall of it all morning long .Notice the lack of traffic?

Didn't take us long to scoot across west Texas at this speed!

Finally we see the Davis Mountains in the distance, at the western edge of  Texas.

At days end we have arrived in the desert. Las Cruses, New Mexico is very pretty, and we are pretty tired. Time for a nap and then to a recommended fun Mexican Restaurant...
