Out of Pocket

Hmmm, out of pocket could be confusing if English is not your native language. You may think it

means paying for something with your own personal funds...instead of it being paid by say insurance

or an expense account. The same phrase or idiom (?), can also mean that you will not be available

for a short time.....which is what I am trying to say.." I will be out of pocket for a few days."

I promise to be back in no time! Janey

  2. Dearest Janey,
Oh, while in France we've been talking about the many possibilities for misunderstandings about certain phrases. But for foreigners that did not grow up into the particular language that could cause some problems and lots of laughs.
    Hugs,
