Family

My Tom's only brother died over twenty five years ago, and I am ashamed to say that we had lost track of his brother's family. Anyway, to make a long story short..... His brother's youngest son wanted to connect with his Uncle Tom. So we invited David and his wife Julie to our log cabin in Colorado.

What better way to get to know someone than to climb a mountain with them...

So, the four of us headed up Cataract Trail....which I think is one of our prettiest hikes
with water cascading down the mountain at  almost every switchback

and once you get higher, the mountain views are awesome......

as are the wildflowers.

We even passed some icy patches of hail from a storm from the night before

Thank you, David and Julie, for driving all the way from Minneapolis to see us!

  1. How wonderful for you and Tom to reconnect with them!! Family is pretty darn important. From Minneapolis? Well, if they're from Minnesota they've got to be good people!
