An Old Fashioned Celebration

I hope you are not weary of fourth of July celebrations....because that is all we have been up to.
On the morning of the fourth, folks take their lawn chairs down early to save their favorite place to watch the parade. Some folks even line the street with chairs the night before....you see we don't have a lot of thefts around  here.
The parade is made up of a lot of decorated off road vehicles
a few floats
a lot of horses
several old cars
even a couple of guys on stilts.
Our family always watches from the same shady corner....and by the way I torture everyone by making them dress alike in flag shirts. By the way, daughters number 2 and 3 are with us this week with their husbands and six of our grandchildren.

The celebration moved to our house for hotdogs.....twenty four of us. ..and then fourteen more joined us for dessert (my friend Betty made the cake), and to watch the fireworks
on our deck which has a terrific view of our towns fireworks...yes it was cold!
Fun Day!

  1. Haha! Sounds like you have done this many times before Janey, it runs like a well oiled machine 😃 How fantastic to have such a great view of the fireworks from your balcony, that's a huge bonus!
