Getting Ready

I know, I have been missing in action...but I am still here.
Have been getting ready for the this town's 4th of July celebration.
There will be a parade in town and then games in the park where I will help man (woman) the Women's Club hot dog booth. As you can see, I have my little tree, that stays up all year.. decorated for the 4th. A strand of lights has gone out at the top but there are no Christmas lights in this town this time of year!

After all of the festivities and few of our friends will gather on our deck for...yes another hot dog! You see our deck has a perfect view of the fireworks. I took this hazy dark picture this morning to show you. See that white speck in the photo? Wells that is a round water tank on the mountain across from us, and that is where they are set off.
So, I have been getting ready for ten adults and another four with four kids joining us for dessert.
Friends bring food to add to the party. I will be making potato salad, two dips and fudge.
I was going to say, tell me about your plans for the fourth...but I guess this is just a U.S. Celebration :)

  2. Like the sound of the fudge - standing on your deck with a hot dog sounds a perfect way to celebrate whilst watching the fireworks.

  3. Hi Janey, I see that you're in CO and getting ready to celebrate. Bob and I will also have a front row seat to the fireworks from our Great Room. Thank goodness we don't have to go into town. It's too busy here right now! Enjoy your 4th!

  5. Well you are well prepared I see. We celebrate our Kings day at April 27. So the party is over here some time. Have a fun day!

  6. Janey, you are the hostess with the mostest! Love your 4th of July tree. It's not the Fourth without potato salad, so I'm glad you are preparing it. Do you add dijon mustard? I do, and pour a vinaigrette over the still-warm new potatoes. This blog is good for me: I just looked up King's Day, a holiday I didn't know about!
