My Dutch Village

It is no secret by now that back in the late seventies, we lived in The Netherlands. I don't have a lot of souvenirs around here, but if you look closely you might notice a few; like my tiny Dutch Village. These little jewels were actually dug out of a large bin, in a toy store of all places, in a shopping center in The Hague. I was amazed that these little clay replicas were actually representations of the different architectural styles in the country. My favorites are the house with the stair stepped gable, the castle, and of course the thatched  roof cottage  To my amazement they were the equivalent of 10 cents apiece. My only regret now, is that I didn't dig deeper and get one of each!
