What Would You Choose?

A fellow *blogger posed a question this week. She asked what souvenir you would bring back from a trip to Paris? My first thought was," I don't collect anything"....but that's not entirely true. I don't seek them out, but when traveling, if I run across little rooster cream pitchers...I have to have one...After all, they are easy to tuck into your carry on since they are barely 3" tall. You would think they are only found in Italy, and the one with the red comb is actually from San Gimignamo; but the blue plaid one was purchased in the gift shop of the Biltmore Mansion in North Carolina!

I had a Great Aunt who collected small cream pitchers. (not necessarily roosters). She had so many that she had floor to ceiling little shelves built that ran around the entire room. I don't think I am in any danger of needing special shelves at this point!

What do you collect?

  1. I used to collect small boxes, but gave that up long ago. I'm not much of a collector: been there, done that. I wouldn't pass up some nifty jewelry though or some fashionable clothes. Maybe some soap or perfume? Your pitchers are cute, tho!

  2. Thank you Kate...and thanks for visiting..How is the house sitting going? I have a friend here who is always looking for one. But, who would want to live in Houston in the summer!? Not me!

  3. Not that my travels are by any means extensive, but I like to have Christmas ornaments from the places I visit. Polly

  5. Well, Janey, I think you did a great job with your link... Since I posed the original question, I probably have to admit that I do collect a variety of "things"... art books, glass beads (and make them), antique silver 4 o'clock spoons, Pez (have them lined up on skinny shelves, lapkins, small watercolors from places I visit, fĂȘves, shoes (just call me Imelda), pottery... Most of my collectables are in an upstairs office/art studio so most people never see it. Some of the collectables are used daily (not the Pez!)

    I love your little roosters!
