The Beaver Dam

You don't have to go very far around here to find a beaver dam (or lodge). This area abounds in rivers and streams  ....and beavers! Some consider them pests....as they are talented engineers at re-directing water ( and destroying trees)....but I find them part of nature ...and fascinating

  1. neat! i do know they can wreak havoc, but thanks to them damming up a portion of the creek near my childhood home, they made the water deep enough for me to learn to backfloat as a kid. :)

  2. Yup, we haven't learned to live with nature too well.

  3. It certainly seems to me that what they do is more natural than some of weird things we humans do on a daily basis to our planet. How nice to come across sights like this Janey.
