The Truck

One of the things you have to get use to when living so close  to the city center...is the parking situation in front of your house. We don't have a reserved spot out front, since we have an alley behind our place, with our two car garage.Although folks, unless they are having a party, try to leave the spaces in front of your house for you.
The day after Christmas this very large Ford F-250 double cab truck showed up...parked right in my view from the kitchen. It really didn't really bother me, but when it sat there day after day, and hasn't been moved ...we began to wonder. My husband...who by the way is the most bothered, started checking with the neighbors.

Those that are in town have no idea who it belongs to. To my knowledge it has not been moved for thirteen days! I'm guessing that it belongs to someone who shared a ride to the airport with our neighbors who are on a mission trip. They should be home in a couple of days. If it is not gone then..I think we should check with the police to see if it a stolen vehicle, or worse yet belonging to someone who is missing...Stay tuned.

  1. It makes for an interesting story. Last year there was a bicycle chained to a post at the end of out drive. After a week I notified the neighbourhood policeman who was also puzzled. It remained there for almost a month and then one day I was out and it had gone when I returned. I still wonder about that bike and its owner!

  2. Happens to me also Janey, not the parking for weeks, just the parking :) It used to annoy me, but it doesn't happen all that often, now I just ignore it.

  4. I suspect that you are correct, but I can imagine that it is annoying. Even though roads do not belong to any of us, we tend to think that we have prority over the bit in front of where we live.

  5. That's pretty cheeky for someone to leave a vehicle parked in one spot for so long. You are very patient; I guess that I would have called the police long ago.

  6. I would imagine you're right about it being the mission people.

  7. Dearest Janey,
Indeed, one wonders! Reason enough for worrying about it and especially nowadays.
    Sending you hugs,
