Can You Drive A Car With Horns?


A fellow blogger (from Amsterdam) had a question when I posted the following picture:

She wondered if you could actually drive a car with horns attached ?

Well, actually, the answer is yes....in TEXAS. While they aren't seen everywhere...you do run into them now and again,

and apparently in Colorado too... where this picture was taken. (okay , so he did buy the car in TEXAS).

There was a restaurateur in Lake City, Colorado who would send this Cadillac, horned limo, to pick you up for a free  round trip ride to his Italian restaurant; which wasn't such a bad idea if you were going to sample his large selection of wine. (that's me holding the coat). Before you come to the opinion that Texans are crazy...you may want to google Wisconsin's Oscar Mayer Weinermobile.

    Hello:
    We do, we have to confess, find it slightly incredible that anyone would choose to attach horns, antlers or anything similar to the front or bonnet of his or her motor car. But then our knowledge of all things Texan is very limited. Besides, judge not lest.......!!

    ha ha. my girlfriend who lives in wisconsin (still) has an obsession with the wienermobile. has photographed it many times. :)

    i've seen a few longhorn vehicles. definitely more of a rarity these days.

    Well, this isn't any stranger than automobiles with Christmas wreaths attached to the front, which is a practice I've seen every holiday season here in the Midwest. Not a common sight, but a bit startling. What's the attraction, I wonder?

    There are many of those attachments I see. It wouldn't be possible here, to dangerous with those sharp ends. It is forbidden. But you have more room on the roads than our crowded ones.
