Okay, it's time for lunch. Where shall we eat? We could go to The Lonesome Dove where award winning ,Texas born, chef Tim Love serves up some exotic local fare. Rabbit-rattlesnake sausage is on the menu and for those not feeling so adventuresome.... mouth watering garlic stuffed beef tenderloin. Or, you can do what my sister and I did. Line up at Tim Love's other eatery, The Love Shack...touted as one of Ft. Worth's best burgers. Polly and I snagged a seat on the open balcony , and listened to a country singer while watching the ever changing scene below.
Lunch was delivered to our table in a paper sack. We split a burger (and fries) that in addition to a beef patty was garnished with bacon strips and a fried quail egg.
Our drink of choice was a beer (when in Rome) . I don't usually drink beer, so I let my sister order. She likes this Belgian beer....and she was right it is delicious.
I hope that you have enjoyed our trip to The Ft Worth Stockyards, and will put it on your list of must do's next time you are in the Dallas-Ft. Worth Metroplex!
I passed through Dallas Ft Worth airport once. Pity I didn't get to see the city.
ReplyDeleteYou're a very good tour guide, esp when it ends with LOVE!
