A fellow blogger from,views from my kitchen sink, blogged about her families trip to Venice. She mentioned that she had been there before when her oldest was two years old...and that it was in the month of February.
Gosh, that brought back memories. When I lived in The Netherlands, many years ago, I accompanied my husband on a business trip to Venice, taking my then two year old.....also in the month of February. She was saying how important travel was to their family. I couldn't agree more. I think it certainly broadens your children's horizons. My children continue to travel.That little tyke in the plaid coat is now writing Leadership Programs for a company in Beijing.

What a wonderful sequel to that trip to Venice for your daughter. Interestingly, I ran into a Brit yesterday whom I know who is married to an Indian woman from Australia. He inquired about my Cuba trip, and mentioned that our country is so beautiful that he intends to do all the rest of his travelling in the US. We made a similar decision when our children were quite small so we didn't take them abroad as much as we have taken our own grandkids. Both generations benefitted from the travel, tho!

ReplyDeleteAwww, look how cute I was :) I am so thankful for the love of travel my parents instilled in me and my sister. The world is a much smaller place when you can see it from multiple perspectives. I am always amazed at how much we have in common, and at the same time value the cultural and geographic traditions that make us unique.
