Play Ball!

Anyone that keeps up with American baseball knows that the Dallas/Ft Worth team is named the Rangers...and their wonderful, state of the art, stadium sits between the two cities in Arlington,Texas.

But, Ft. Worth also has a minor league team named the Cats that they play at the historic old La Grave Field north of downtown Ft. Worth.

. Opened in the 1920's it has a long list of baseball Hall of Famers who either played here, or practiced here at summer camp. That amazing list of great ball players that sat in these dugouts includes Babe Ruth, Jackie Robinson, Hank Aaron, Lou Gehrig and Joe DiMaggio just to name a few.

For a very nominal fee ($5 Sundays) you can watch The Cats play baseball in this vintage old fashioned stadium. or. you can rent one of the two old dugouts (the Cats have new ones) for your private group . Two hundred dollars for a party of ten. Sounds like a fun outing to me! Play ball!

  1. Smaller teams and older stadiums are always fun to visit.

  2. Reminds me of Guinn Field here in San Angelo. Gone now but we used to take my granddaddy to watch the San Angelo Colts play. He loved baseball. We still have a team, the Colts, but a new stadium.
