Fall is Finally Here

You can usually set your clock, here in Colorado, by the changing of the leaves. This year, for what ever reason, the leaves have been slow to turn. I did notice a patch of gold in the distance while at the waterfall on Sunday

These are the same trees as we got closer

The majority of the Aspen trees turn a golden yellow...but every once in awhile one turns reddish orange.

  1. Dpn't be in too much of a hurry for autumn's leaves because. . .

    Nothing Gold Can Stay

    Nature's first green is gold,
    Her hardest hue to hold.
    Her early leaf's a flower;
    But only so an hour.
    Then leaf subsides to leaf,
    So Eden sank to grief,
    So dawn goes down to day
    Nothing gold can stay.

    in the meantime, we were still 97 here yesterday and dry as a bone.

  3. Oh, I like that time of the year to see the change of colours. The trees become so beautiful in the Indian summer.

  4. Fall is so beautiful yet so cruel because ice and snow are inevitable, arriving much too quickly after the autumn display of colors.

  5. Love the autumn colours Janey and love even more that there is a rebel tree every now and then :)
