Sip & See
It's a southern thing....a Sip & See. Really a chance for a grandmother to show off her new granddaughter.

Fall
You can certainly tell when October rolls around. Despite the fact that it is still ninety degrees here in South Texas, there are reminders of Fall everywhere.
At the grocery store, where I shop, you can buy a fresh pumpkin to crave into a jack-o-lantern

or even a ceramic one that will last forever!

Texas Big Hair
I decided to try and style my granddaughter Hannah's hair. Visiting from Chicago...she needs to learn about Texas Big Hair. Not sure it worked, but she was a willing participant . Having her here is like having my own little doll to play with.!

Dinner
I love having my daughter here this week. After her business trip, she is working the remainder of the week from our house; and she put in a very full day yesterday. She was in meetings most of the day, via phone and computer. After unplugging, she decided she wanted to cook. So the three of us, that includes little Hannah, went a a new area grocery store for ingredients. It was an extra special treat for me after being so far from a grocery store all summer! Anyway, not only did we have fun shopping , but I enjoyed being in the kitchen watching her cook a wonderful kale, mushroom soup.

The Bank
The other day I wrote about my disappointment over businesses in our area, moving or closing. Well, yesterday I was at the drive in window of the bank and I looked up and spotted a dead tree , right by the bank, with what looked like two vultures sitting in it. I hope this isn't a omen?

Techie Grandma
Bet you didn't think you would hear from me; with me baby sitting and all! Hannah's Mom left for North Texas for a two day meeting yesterday....but before leaving, had to give me instructions on how to operate the baby monitor. My things have changed! Hannah shares her bed with a t.v. monitor....then I can watch her on a little screen all night!...I still didn't trust it, and wore a path in the hallway to her room!
I was also given instructions of how to turn on the ipod with "white noise"....but I relied on old skills and just rocked her to sleep while singing. My first child's pediatrician told me to sing her to sleep. I exclaimed, " but I can't sing" to which he replied "the cowboys couldn't either... but they still sang the cows to sleep."

Hannah
Hannah, my precious four month old granddaughter is coming today... and will be here for a whole week! My husband is a bit over-whelmed with the amount of gear that my friends and fellow grandmothers have dropped off for me to borrow. It is actually filling a room.....and she is so tiny! Can't wait! can't wait! Oops..I'm repeating myself. :)
