You Can Tell You Are In Texas!

Yes, you know you are in Texas when you visit the famous Ft. Worth Stockyards, just a few miles miles due north of our county courthouse. You really feel like you are in the later part of the nineteen century. Touristy, yes, but very authentic, and in the very location where the busy stockyards actually were.



Part of the fun of visiting the stockyards is running into one of these characters. Members of the Legends of Texas Org. regularly stroll around Exchange street.(mostly on horseback)...and you may even see a gun fight.The men and woman who represent this organization do extensive research on the characters they portray, so you may think  Sam Houston, Billy the Kid, Wild Bill Hickock and Bell Starr have come back to life.!

By the way these pictures were all taken by my talented sister Polly. She recently joined a walking photo tour of the stockyards.
I think these guys have a fun job.
It's hard to pick a favorite
but I think this may be mine.

    I was surprised to see you suddenly making portraits, but your sister is very talented indeed. It is a diverse collection of the Texan man.
