On The River

Actually, were are docked at the confluence of the Saone and the Rhone Rivers in Lyon, France. Our good weather hopefully is waiting for us down stream...since it is wet and cold here. We had a morning city tour which was very informative, and our favorite guide so far. Lyon is famous for it's food, but also for it's murals.
We saw this building...which really isn't a building at all. It is the remains of a wall. and completely covered on all sides with trompe-l'oeil paintings. Those are not real windows but paintings
of people that were the who's who of the past, and even the present. Obviously someone really like the baker!

  1. Dearest Janey,
Indeed I do hope the weather will be a bit more merciful as everything will brighten up with sunshine!
    ENJOY and sending you hugs,

  3. Our French son (exchange student) was from Lyon and his family owned a winery. Our son also stayed with them for a short period. When we visited them years later we went to the winery plus they treated us to a magnificent dinner, the gastronomic capital of France!
