Walking past this backyard down in town took me back.
No, it wasn't the outhouse (although I did live in a house with one once). It was the clothesline. I remember having to bring the dry clothes in from the line when I came home from school in the afternoons. Did you ever have that chore?
I'm surprised how many people hang clothes out here in New Zealand and, yes, I hang our clothes out, too.
ReplyDeleteDoing laundry and hanging clothes on an outside line is something I have always loved doing; yup, I actually enjoy it and miss all the outside clotheslines that have disappeared over the years.
ReplyDeleteYes, I did. And sometimes on Saturdays I would have to hang them out on the line. I didn't like that chore so much back then, but sure wish j had a clothesline now. Just haven't found the right spot, yet. How's hubby?
ReplyDeleteI've done my share of putting clothes out on the line and taking them in.
ReplyDeleteyes. every saturday morning i helped my mother with laundry. i loved it. it was our time together.
ReplyDeleteI still do, maybe I am old fashioned but with all the winds here I always hang my laundry on my balcony. It is dry in an hour.
