On A Hill

On a hill on the north side of our two plus acres, here in the mountains, is a strange spot. It is right at the top of a hill, and caught my eye, because the whole area around there seems to be mostly solid rock. Is it my imagination or does this look a bit like a grave?
I noticed it several years ago..and have actually never told anyone. It seems to me, if it were really old (like 100 yrs) that more grass and weeds would have covered it? Maybe someone came up here and buried a pet? I can't figure it out. I also thought it could be a fire pit, but there is no trace of charred wood. Who knows, it could even be buried treasure...but more likely someone just buried their trash.

Therefore I am linking to : Rubbish Tuesday

  1. Well, for an historian of note, you aren't hitting a home run on this one; better start digging!

  4. I think I'd be pretty freaked out if this was on my property and I didn't know what it was...especially since it really does look like a grave. It's probably a pet, but still! :-)

  5. I do wonder...I am afraid I would be so curious I would dig.

  6. Darn - I want it to be an old grave. In the forest near my house is an old crumbling rock wall and trough in the ground that I imagine is some mining relic. That's my story, and I'm sticking to it!

  7. I would hesitate to dig, to find bones or sculs must be frightening. A treasure would not be burried so openly I think, more covered up in the bushes.

  8. I'm a bit slow getting around. I'm having Chrome issues and my version of IE isn't compatible with blogger. I agree this does look like a grave of sorts. I think there is certainly a story there. I think I would be bringing a shovel. Thanks for linking up!
