The inside of the house is cozy, comfortable,
and full of collectibles..
There are multiple display cabinets in every room, even the laundry room.
Since most of the things are in glass cabinets...they are not dust collectors
There were even multiple cabinets full of any and everything related to sewing
I could go on and on, but you get the picture. This place is like a huge museum.
Even the walk in attic was full of display cabinets. This was mind boggling. They had stapled to the attic ceiling every toy character ever related to the movie Star Wars.
I am not exaggerating here!
It was especially a nice day for me, since all four of my sisters were able to attend.Yes, there are five of us girls and I am smack dab in the middleWill you be able to be with your siblings this holiday season? ...and since I am asking questions...Tell me what you collect?
Since I've become a minimalist :) there are no more collections for me Janey, well I guess I do pick up good art when I can :) and I do still get twitchy when I see an unusual eggcup :)

ReplyDeleteJaney what an amazing collection of collectibles! I seem to move about too much these days to indulge in collecting! Greetings from Scotland Janey and I've enjoyed catching up on your last few posts.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lot of stuff - I have reached a stage when I am thinking about getting rid of things I have collected - silver, ceramics, and my special collection of peapods!
ReplyDeleteWow! That is a lot of collectibles!
ReplyDeleteIn regards to your question, well I do collect comics.
I don't know about the holidays as of yet... unfortunately the state of things between myself and my sisters is not on good terms as with yours.
Dearest Janey,
ReplyDeleteOh my, that was indeed quite an extensive museum at your 2nd cousin's home!
What a special time for being together; you're so lucky.
No, I will again, for the 32nd time not be with my siblings for Christmas.
What do I collect... Nothing in display cases I must say but over the years we've added some angels, the authentic wooden hand carved ones from Italy, Austria and South Germany. Pieter has a small collection of pipes that were family heirlooms.
Sending you hugs,
Mariette
It looks indeed like a Museum, I am not collecting anything just try to get rid of all the stuff here. But my husband collects everything exept women...:)
ReplyDeleteM's comment above is priceless! Your cousin's house? I am dumbfounded. Not my style but it obviously makes them happy. I prefer simple as best. The only think I collect are pieces of visual art when I visit another country or favorite city. Not much room left on my walls!
