...and more sleet and snow mix predicted for tonight.
That is okay though, because we have had a fun weekend:
attending the beautiful wedding of Josh and Brittany
Which meant familiar faces. These three couples posing with us, are very good south Texas friends. Gosh it was wonderful seeing them.
There was a traditional white wedding cake at the reception, which was held at The Stockman's Club in the Ft Worth Stockyards....
and a smaller "grooms" cake....reflecting the fact that he is not only a Texan, but a University of Houston graduate (they both are). Grooms cakes are usually part of a southern wedding reception. Does your part of the world have this tradition?....and are you experiencing crazy weather.?
oh, now you made me crave wedding cake - one of my favorite things in the WORLD!
ReplyDeleteyes, we're presently getting pelted with freezing rain and expected to drop to 18 tonight - after 80 yesterday here too. *sigh*
Don't even ask about Minnesota weather--the third worst winter in terms of temperature, snow and ice in recorded history. Don't think I've ever been at a wedding that had a groom's cake.
ReplyDelete70 degrees in Charlotte today!
ReplyDeleteTried to follow, but...
ReplyDeleteOur winter has passed without we even noticed it. High temperatures 10 C, it looked like autumn or spring all the time. It was the warmest winter ever!
ReplyDeleteHello Janey, lovely to see you call by again!
ReplyDeleteI'm amazed that those lovey bushes (shrubs) look so happy and healthy in the snow!
Lovely wedding! (and cake)
No I have to say this is the first time I've heard of a Grooms cake Janey, but as far as I'm concerned there can never be enough cake :) Yes our weather is still crazy hot, well above average for this time of the year.. the world weather is going mad!
