Hello from Colorado!

Tom and I crossed into Colorado about five in the evening yesterday. The trip from Ft. Worth, TX can be driven in one day, but we like to stay overnight along the way, so we stopped in the small town of Trinadad. Due to the time change (1 hr.) we were up earlier then usual and hit the road. Have to admit we were also ready to get settled in our little mountain town.

We turned off of Interstate 25 (the main artery approaching Colorado from the south) at Walsenberg and headed west on state hwy.160. The little gas station were we usually buy fuel  in Walsenburg wasn't open ....yes, it was that early. So we ventured into town which we had never done, in search of gas. I was surprised to see their pretty little courthouse, which was built in 1904.Walsenburg with a population of only 3,000 is the county seat of Huerfano County.
It has been a very tiring day, lugging in all of our things and getting settled but,
I am planning on it being a very interesting and fun summer...
So stay with me!
Janey
