The Chimney

On our drive into the mountains on Sunday afternoon. I saw a large chimney. I thought maybe there had been a large house attached to it at one time.
It is quite a ways down the hill, so it must be huge.

Although I was wrong, seems it was a  Lime Kiln.

    One doesn't often see them in one piece. I can think of an area near my childhood home that had one in operation back in the 19th century, but was long gone.
