A white fence... the perfect back-drop for a field of Bluebonnets, which is the official state flower of TEXAS! (now in bloom)
Linking to Good Fences
Someone wanted to know if the Texas Bluebonnet is in the Lupine family. Indeed it is. It is called A LupinusTexenis. The second photo here is of Lupinus Sericeus. A flower also in the Lupine family, that grows in the area I live in the summer...South central Colorado.
Hello Janey:
ReplyDeleteWhat an incredible sight. And how wonderful to have the blue of the flower matched by that of the sky. We imagine these to be Lupinus texensis growing completely wild.
They are a wildflower Jane and Lance, but areas are seeded by individuals and the Texas Highway Department. It's quite a show!
DeleteWonderful.
ReplyDeleteThat white fence really breaks the sky from the flowers. And such beautiful flowers.
Going to look for some bluebonnets this week end. Hope to find some.
ReplyDeleteLooks like the best of both worlds.
ReplyDeletereally beautiful, janey!
ReplyDelete(fyi, your link didn't work today so i fixed it from my side.)
Looks like I still need some tutoring! Thanks!
DeleteThose bluebonnets are gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteLove how the blue of the sky and the flowers match and then it is divided by the white fence
ReplyDeleteLove Texas bluebonnets. Miss them. They look great with the white fence for a backdrop.
ReplyDeleteA beautiful sight the blue field and with the two of you the picture is perfect!
ReplyDeleteYour title is so nice and the fence complements the blue colors of the lovely flowers.
ReplyDeleteI love those gorgeous blues! Your blog header is amazing! Greetings from WA state, visiting from 'Good Fences'. - Karen
