I am linking today. Some folks call it a link party. It is where you follow a theme, and put a link on your blog, so that your readers can jump over to the leaders blog, where all of the other blogs are also linked. Got it? I know I didn't for a long time. Today's theme is Rubbish Tuesday. Doesn't exactly mean rubbish as in trash...but I guess it could. One of the definitions went something like this: Something in pristine condition that just happens to be old. Don't worry I am not posting a picture of myself!
Okay, so it is not that interesting, or old looking, although it is in pristine condition.....or at least I certainly hope so.
and when I open it, it looks a bit older...Looks sort of like an empty closet.
Maybe this will give you a clue as to what it is.
....and this certainly will. It is an old private elevator in this house (opening into the breakfast room) that works perfectly! We are leasing the top half of this house(until they complete our new house), built in the 1920's, and this thing is certainly helpful when bringing up groceries, luggage, etc. This elevator is my contribution to something in pristine condition that just happens to be old..I might add that it also comes in handy when taking out the rubbish!..Janey

That looks rather rubbish, do you go inside too, or just put your groceries in and than run upstairs. I would certainly do that myself.ReplyDelete
It is well maintained and I do ride it up and down. Some of our guests are not so trusting though.Delete
Love it! That door is in pristine condition. I actually remember an elevator such as this from back in the day. Our family doctor was on the 3rd floor of a building and there was an elevator with an elevator operator. It was scary at first but I learned to love it. Nice post!ReplyDelete
A great convenience rather than chugging up a flight of stairs.ReplyDelete
I remember the old elevators. Not many were to be had in houses. How fortunate for you to be able to experience this today.ReplyDelete
Lovely! What a treat to have.ReplyDelete
Those are great example! It reminds me of growing up in Chicago.ReplyDelete
Perfect old...no, not YOU but what you shared. I threatened to get a photo of my husband for this meme. LOLReplyDelete
oh my gosh!!! what a great thing - and you get to USE it! :)ReplyDelete
I think I'd probably put my stuff in it and press the button before running up the stairs, it's an amazing thing though.ReplyDelete
that is just too cool!ReplyDelete
built in the 1920's? and still functional. That is great.ReplyDelete
That is just awesome! I could have used an elevator in the 3rd floor condo I rented over the winter.ReplyDelete
