A cloudy sky in Fort Worth, Texas just before sunset
This is a pecan tree. Pecans trees are one of the last trees to get their leaves in the Spring. Mother always told us that the Pecan trees would not leaf until after the last frost..
After having two homes for a number of years, one in Texas the other in Colorado, we have simplified our lives. Coming to you from only Texas now, but not really. We are world travelers…so stay with me.
Love what the trees produce altho I'm not keen on shelling them. Our local paper had an article this morning from
ReplyDeleteAustin remarking on the condition of the Alamo and future plans to rehabilitate it.
Lovely shot with the tree in silhouette Janey. Funny to think of nuts growing on trees :)

ReplyDeletejust lovely!
ReplyDeleteI like to listen to what mother has to tell.
ReplyDeleteThough I am fifty-four and she is eighty-six.
Dearest Janey,
ReplyDeleteThat is such a perfect photo with a beautiful pecan tree as well; they can be rather lanky but this one has a nice shape. Yes, all nut trees are late, like the beech trees, they hold on to their old leaves until the new ones come out.
Happy spring weekend and hugs,
Mariette
