Well, it wasn’t really a home tour, but another estate sale where every item in the house was for sale. I like going just to see the house…in this case it wasn’t just a house but a mansion.
Driving up it didn’t look as large as it was. Supposedly 11,000 square feet.
Behind the kitchen there was a butler's pantry which was complete with all of the appliance that were also in the adjoining kitchen..
Beyond the kitchen in the other direction was
the breakfast room overlooking the swimming pool.Down the hall was a study that took on a whole new look with lots of beautiful wood and a coffered ceilings.
I forgot to show you this is just some of the silver displayed in the breakfast room. Interesting the younger generation in the U.S.as a whole are not interested in such formal items. The silver plated tray I have an arrow pointing to was only $8.00.
The landing upstairs
The closet in the primary bedroom was so large that it had a hallway within it. Have you ever seen so many drawers?!Back downstairs we toured the formal living area the the left of the front door. Again difficult to photograph without shoppers.
Notice the frescoes painted on the living room walls.
At one end of the room this gentleman had found a nice place to wait…or was he the owner…who knows!
It seems kind of sad to see so many treasures out for sale and at low prices. But family members already have houses full of their own treasures and probably no one has a house THIS BIG! How interesting!
ReplyDelete11000 sq. ft. is nuts.
ReplyDeleteThat silver displayed in the breakfast room is a collector's item.
ReplyDeleteI find these homes fascinating. Love all the photos.
ReplyDeleteWow, that is one amazing house. 11,000 square feet is a lot house to heat and cool and clean. In fact, I bet it takes a crew to do the cleaning.
ReplyDeleteThe study particularly appeals to me.
