It is about sixty miles away. We hug the Lake Fork of the Gunnison River, about three quarters of the of the trip.
You must pay attention, as in some places, it is very close to the road.
I have a favorite little waterfall (my secret waterfall), where I like to stop, and see in the early summer..It is not out the way.
For some reason I never tire of the weekly drive.
Some interesting formations to see..and many times animals.
It does get a bit arrid when the river turns off to the west...and we continue on north.
Hey, I spy the Crested Butte ski area...another thirty or so miles to the north.
We have finally reached the Blue Mesa Reservoir, where we will go over a short bridge, and the road ends.We will turn right, for another short nine miles into Gunnison..and you will finally find a supermarket!
I guess that you just don't run out to get a quart of milk, do you? Some pretty spectacular scenery along the way!
ReplyDeleteThat is a very different ride as to my supermarket, hope you have a list of groceries to buy with you. Otherwise you have to return again...
ReplyDeletequite a drive, but the views do reward you!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful scenery!
